Makeover Time! Plus- what have i been up to?

In the advent of my return to WordPress (it’s good to be back), I decided to give my blog a little makeover!

I’ve already started with my new banner (which I went to great lengths to make for free, using a photo editing thing called muzy, polyvore, tumblr and pinterest!) and a new background and theme. I’m so glad to be back with all my followers (yep, all 20 of ’em!), sorry I ever left you guys 😦
Soooo… What have I been up to while I was gone? Well, I made a tumblr, which was probably one of the best desicions in my life. Now I can get kawaii photos like every 2 minutes and gain more followers! If you have tumblr and would like to join my unicorn followers, my blog’s called milky unicorns. I have 54 so far (I think!).
I also hit 100 on my Fashionlista, and I’m heading up to 150 followers! If you have fashionlista and would like to help me along my follower quest, and get all the latest kawaii clothes, then I go by the name of Milky Unicorns, and if you haven’t got Fashionlista, get it, its worth it!
Also got a new Polyvore, and on there I go by the name of… *you guessed it* Milky Unicorns!
That’s all from the world of social networking, let’s see what else maddie-chan has been doing in her life!
I received my first Lolita dress! I’m wearing it to the Scotland MCM, so if anyone’s going, tell me in the comments.
I’ve also done a lot of busking over the summer holidays and I was wondering is there really good shops where I can get kawaii stuff? I have a lot of money now >.<
Done a few more DIYs, watched some more Kawaii International, looked at the latest trends and did my cuter take one them, discovered the absolute wonders of Dan Brown books, kawaiified my room, got back into vintage fashion again, read NEO magazine, attempted to make deco cream for free (ha, what a fail!), pined for Animal Crossing New Leaf, is currently saving for an ipod, downloaded a giant kawaii photospam, the list goes on!

So I’ll see you all when I publish my next post, probably before the makeover is done because I’m on holiday just now. If you wanna get in touch, tell me about something, ask about something, or want me to write a post on something, just ask in the comments or email me at: , I’d love to hear from you guys!

Loves, hugs, rainbows and sparkles, Until next time, unicorns! Xxxxx

Fashionlista, Polyvore, and a lego block…

Hi! So, still no interview from Rainbowholic, but remember the lego accessories I was talking about? I finally got round to making them! Here’s a quick tutorial:
All you need is some earring backs or a ring base, then smother it with some PVA glue or super glue, and stick it onto the the little tube at the back of the brick. Now leave it to dry (for 24 hours?)! After 24 hours, twist the back a bit to see if it’s dry, and if it isn’nt, leave It to dry some more. Repeat until fully dry. And there you have it!

So, I wanted to tell you about another website I found (me and my websites, eh?), its called Fashionlista. Basically you like (or love in this case) different items of clothing to build up your fashion profile/style! Then, people of a similar style can follow you and love your loves. You can follow me, I’ll get a link soon, but in the meantime my username is whattheunicorns !

Also, my polyvore account got deleted (don’t ask me), so I’ve made a new account with the same username (what-the-unicorns-wear). I hope you can message me/follow me!

To conclude today’s post, I think I’ll make an about page, with my email so you giys can contact me and tell me all about your kawaii dreams!

That’s all for now guys! Xxx

these peices are so simple to make, but require so much patientce!

DIY harajuku hair clips!

So here it is, the christmas post I was talking about! I’ll put a picture of the christmas one I made soon! Hope you all have good day, merry (and kawaii) christmas!

I’ve taken to making my own hair accessories, here I’ve made a gothic lolita one and a more harajuku one, for a bit of contrast. They’re really simple to make to!!! Here’s my promised tutorial:

First, you need an A4 piece of card, scissors, your chosen colour of nail varnish, some deco buttons,a kirby grip and some sellotape

Cut out a shape on your card. Here, I’ve gone for a gloopy shape.

Paint you’re gloopy shape with you’re chosen colour nail varnish, then stick all your deco buttons on, hence drying them on with the varnish. Wait for everything to dry, then paint over it with a clear nail varnish.

Finally, attach the kirby grip to the back of the piece with either super glue or sellotape. If you have sellotape, attach it by threading it through the grip and placing it on the back of the piece.
If you need any help, just comment below! Send us your pictures on our facebook page (What The Unicorns Wear)!

Sorry about my appalling grammar and lack of photos!! Have fun and merry christmas!

365 day project! and…. Cat face! and most of all…. Skittles bag!

Skittles Bag/ Purse365 DAY PROJECT

hey guys…

yesterday i told you how to make a craft corner, now i’#m going to put mine to use! i guess i should explain! It all started with this awesome magazine, called Flow. to cut a long story short, there was this article about 365 day projects. For those who don’t know (just coz i didn’t know before the article!) a 365 day project is, as the name suggests, a project that you do a little everyday. you could draw a picture. Take a photo. Buy a postcard. tyhe list goes on. anyway, i read the article, and decided (you guessed it) i want to do one! It means i’ve got something to blog about everyday, and i’ll get new inspiration all the time! Ok, here’s what i’m going to do:

combining my love of Japan , vintage fashion and craft into one project, i’m going to do a DIY / art piece every day *fingers crossed i have enough willpower not to give in on day thirty!*

That’s my new years (or as some of my friends would call it, Hogmany?) resolution sorted then! I’d love to hear your feedback on my Facebook page (for that is where ALL of the project pics will be updated daily…).

as for my first project (tomorrow), I’m going to attempt to put a cat face on one of my tee shirts …  I’ve taken a liking to cat face accessories! there so cute!!! if that doesnt work then i’ll make a purse out of a bag of chocolate buttons!!! youpi!

As some of you may know, skittles are my favorite sweets, and they make me go super hyper. literally. People beg me not to eat them. But i love them anyway, so with a “tear and share” packet that me and a friend had, i decided to make a skittles bag to honor my love for skittles! its more of  a purse size really, so i cant carry much in it! Anyway i wore it to a christmas-do thing last night, and i kinda got a mixed reaction! some people were all “you’re actually allowed out with that?!” but some people were like “that’s awesome!”. Anyway everyone liked overall, and I’m going to make a chocolate buttons one tomorrow as part of my 365 days project, so i’ll get a tutorial up then is you want to be as weird as me!!!

Hope you all have a great Christmas eve eve eve, and that the weather conditions in the UK aren’t doing any damage!

Those Mayans were wrong! I was assured of this when i got on my facebook this morning, because, as the Back To The Future page reminded me, the world wont end in 2012 because Marty Mcfly travelled to 2015.

lots of kawaii love,
